In order to carry out the migration, the majority of the Axito team was sent off for a well-deserved Easter weekend on Maundy Thursday. Around 70 colleagues took this shutdown as an opportunity to bid farewell to the Axito era and get in the mood for the new times. So the “4 pm beer” (kind of a Swabian tradition) was served in Mietingen at the Tennis Center. With some nice food and drinks the colleagues enjoyed the cozy atmosphere with lively conversations.

I was pleased that so many people took part in the party. This shows the cohesion in the production.

How did the migration go?
We are grateful and proud of all those colleagues who took care of the migration of the production data during the Easter weekend. From Thursday to Easter Monday, the team worked flat out on migrating the systems. After the kick-off on Thursday, material masters and production orders were migrated. Daily status meetings ensured clear communication and escalation when necessary. Printing of the migrated orders started on Friday and errors were immediately corrected. On Saturday, a total of 16 colleagues exchanged order papers throughout the plant and carried out the first system tests. Despite minor problems, the orders were processed successfully. At the same time, the migration of unreleased orders and work plans began. Thanks to the great progress made, the team was able to take a break on Easter Sunday to spend the day with their families. The inventory migration began on Easter Monday. After a thorough check it was clear: the production was ready for the night shift. All in all, it was a great team effort from IT and the specialist departments.

The collaboration between the specialist departments and IT was very good. As soon as someone had completed their task, they immediately offered their support again. This allowed me to concentrate fully on the migration.
Ole Schott, Application Consultant
We are now in the rework phase. As is usual with a system migration, the following weeks more intensive. The team from IT and specialist departments is currently working through the remaining issues. There is still a lot to do.
