“Quickly dashing out of the company and setting off for the company run, I meet 62 colleagues at the Riffelhof in Burgrieden in perfect running weather. What a sight: We are all wearing the same outfits. But we were far from alone: 617 other runners and several helpers were also there.

At 5 p.m. sharp, I set off through the start gate to begin the 5.6 km long running course, moti­vated. After a small “traffic jam” at the first bottle­neck, the trail goes uphill – and not for the last time -, followed by a more relaxing part on the flat. After­wards, going down a hill, the running almost did itself.

At the road­side were clap­ping spec­ta­tors, even drum­mers and cheer­leaders as well as firemen who kept the roads clear for us. That makes running a lot easier!”

“Then, behind a bend: the final climb, quite surpris­ingly. It was a real chal­lenge, but in the end we all mastered it success­fully. I am sure every­body felt relief over the last few meters before passing the finish gate amidst loud cheers from the spec­ta­tors. We were all awarded beau­tiful wooden medals on comple­tion.

After the run, partic­i­pants and atten­dees enjoyed refresh­ments.

At the award cere­mony, we Uhlmann runners also received a number of certifi­cates and trophies – so many, in fact, that it’s hard to keep track of every single one.”
