KOCH Pac-SystemeSuccesses of the first half of 2021

Our Group Company Koch Pac-Systeme regularly reports in the employee magazine "KOCH talks" about things that are of interest throughout the Group. We will take over this content here in pactuell in a loose series. We will start with KOCH's successes from the first half of 2021.

Assembly

Despite a diffi­cult phase with short-time working and restric­tions on employees, all projects were imple­mented within the required time­line.

Corpo­rate Engi­neering

The test stations for paper forming and laser cutting were success­fully put into oper­a­tion and presented to the first customers.

Busi­ness Processes and IT Services

By changing struc­tures, processes and methods of oper­a­tion, we increased employee satis­fac­tion and can thus achieve our depart­mental vision. Our new commu­ni­ca­tion chan­nels always keep us up to date.

Training

Five appren­tices were able to pass their final exams early thanks to their excel­lent perfor­mance and were given perma­nent employ­ment contracts.

Purchasing/Production Plan­ning

Through increas­ingly inten­sive coop­er­a­tion with the Uhlmann Group, we are able to trans­late these synergy effects into improved quality, price and delivery condi­tions.

Warehouse/Logistics

Through the intro­duc­tion of key figures to measure the delivery reli­a­bility of our suppliers we hope to achieve better delivery reli­a­bility for our customers.

Human Resources

The short-term intro­duc­tion of short-time work with a plan­ning process and tech­nical imple­men­ta­tion in SAP as well as a supple­ment to short-time allowance could be success­fully imple­mented.

Facility Manage­ment

New emer­gency lighting was installed in assembly hall 1 and VW1which was largely carried out in-house. Thus, some employees could be protected against short-time work for several weeks and invest­ments could be saved.

Quality Control

We estab­lished the problem-solving method which aims to achieve more stable products/processes and increased customer satis­fac­tion by constantly working on existing prob­lems.

Appli­ca­tion Field Contact Lenses

After a prolonged lean period and a chal­lenging bidding and nego­ti­a­tion phase, we were able to place with our customer several orders with a total of eight repe­ti­tion systems (PP) for several sites.

Elec­trical Design

With the intro­duc­tion and conver­sion of SAP S/4HANA in conjunc­tion with EPLAN and ECTR, another building block has been laid for KOCH’s digital future.

Tech­nology and Digi­tal­iza­tion

Thanks to the K4.0 smart­packs, the first fully digital KOCH prod­ucts could be sold.

Sales Medical Tech­nology

The first KBS-C for pack­aging syringes was success­fully sold.

Engi­neering Medical Tech­nology

In the course of the imple­men­ta­tion of customer projects, wallet machines for medical industry were spec­i­fied.

Sales Consumer Prod­ucts

Thanks to a convincing feeding concept based on LCIA (Low Cost Intel­li­gent Automa­tion), we were able to achieve the required return on invest­ment of our customer and the competitor was “beaten”. Our customer orders another system with feeder, the ten existing systems are to be retro­fitted.

Engi­neering Consumer Prod­ucts

The first of our Global Account customers as well as “National Heroes” are responding enthu­si­as­ti­cally to the devel­op­ment and presen­ta­tion of flex­ible cyclePac solu­tions: with the same format set different depths and widths can be packed.

Product Manage­ment

The intro­duc­tion of regular and global sales training sessions, at least once a month with approx. 40 partic­i­pants, allows trans­parency and the exchange of knowl­edge.

Sales Office Processes

The more chal­lenging the starting posi­tion due to turbu­lent annual accounts, the pandemic or capacity bottle­necks, the more bril­liant the team spirit.

Appli­ca­tion Field Contact Lenses

With the on-time comple­tion of the first batch size 1 – primary pack­aging system for a new customer, for which we received outstanding feed­back on coop­er­a­tion and quality from the inquiry to the SAT, we were able to achieve another success as a CL team.

Sales Service and Spare Parts

We were able to take over the service and main­te­nance work on machines of the competitor for us.

Tech­nical Support and Service

In spite of constantly changing require­ments in corona and travel regu­la­tions, we were able to expand resources and perform many service calls.

Marketing

In addi­tion to improved, daily updated and digital internal commu­ni­ca­tion, we were able to expand commu­ni­ca­tion with our customers to include digital chan­nels.

Finance and Control­ling

The audit of the annual finan­cial state­ments by the audi­tors was success­fully carried out in digital/virtual form for the first time.

Docu­men­ta­tion and Qual­i­fi­ca­tion

The first steps towards on-time delivery of the docu­men­ta­tion have been made, and the approaches are posi­tive and promising.
