The two facility managers Alfred Wirth and Stefan Meingast cheerfully greet us at the entrance and take us through the new premises. These are fitted with the latest technology, and designed and implemented along the lines of the “modern working environment”.
Consistent with the look of Hall B, the architecture of the new building likewise reflects our corporate culture. Everything is very stylish – the good taste of the Uhlmann family again comes to full advantage in this building.
D6 combines corporate architecture with a modern working environment and marks another milestone in the history of the Uhlmann Group.

Stefan Meingast, Senior Expert Facility Management, is responsible for implementation of the modern working environment “New Work”.
They have been supported from the start by many colleagues in various teams from different divisions.

Building D6…
- covers an area of 17 m x 78 m = approx. 1,300 square meters
- comprises a basement level, first floor, and three upper floors
- also accommodates showers and changing rooms, building services, as well as an area for a new datacenter in the basement
- is connected to our combined heat and power plant for its energy – like all the other buildings on the site
- is fitted with combined heating/cooling ceilings, has a ventilation system, and permits window opening
- illuminates the rooms with dimmable LEDs
- has sunshades outside and inside
Modern working environment “New Work”
- 263 workplaces with the option of various mobile work situations
- Functional planning of work and retreat options including phone booths, lounges, as well as “Think Tank” and workshop areas
- Lockers for individual belongings
- Kitchenettes fitted with dishwasher, fridge, and Quooker® (boiling or cooled water facilities)
