It is not to be overlooked: the imposing building adjacent to the main entrance in the Uhlmannstrasse. However, most of us only know the exterior of the new building up to now. The pactuell editorial team was allowed to take a look inside.

The two facility managers Alfred Wirth and Stefan Mein­gast cheer­fully greet us at the entrance and take us through the new premises. These are fitted with the latest tech­nology, and designed and imple­mented along the lines of the “modern working envi­ron­ment”.

Consis­tent with the look of Hall B, the archi­tec­ture of the new building like­wise reflects our corpo­rate culture. Every­thing is very stylish – the good taste of the Uhlmann family again comes to full advan­tage in this building.

D6 combines corpo­rate archi­tec­ture with a modern working envi­ron­ment and marks another mile­stone in the history of the Uhlmann Group.

  • Plan­ning and imple­men­ta­tion: 

    Alfred Wirth, Head of Facility Manage­ment, is super­vising the building project.

    Stefan Mein­gast, Senior Expert Facility Manage­ment, is respon­sible for imple­men­ta­tion of the modern working envi­ron­ment “New Work”.

    They have been supported from the start by many colleagues in various teams from different divi­sions.

Building D6…

  • covers an area of 17 m x 78 m = approx. 1,300 square meters
  • comprises a base­ment level, first floor, and three upper floors
  • also accom­mo­dates showers and changing rooms, building services, as well as an area for a new data­center in the base­ment
  • is connected to our combined heat and power plant for its energy – like all the other build­ings on the site
  • is fitted with combined heating/cooling ceil­ings, has a venti­la­tion system, and permits window opening
  • illu­mi­nates the rooms with dimmable LEDs
  • has sunshades outside and inside

Modern working envi­ron­ment “New Work”

  • 263 work­places with the option of various mobile work situ­a­tions
  • Func­tional plan­ning of work and retreat options including phone booths, lounges, as well as “Think Tank” and work­shop areas
  • Lockers for indi­vidual belong­ings
  • Kitch­enettes fitted with dish­washer, fridge, and Quooker® (boiling or cooled water facil­i­ties)
  • Plants
  • User guide­line – explains the various options of use and applic­able rules
