Cool!"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Surprising and quite refreshing \u2013 that\u2019s how Uhlmann employees described this year\u2019s works meeting on July 15 at the Cultural Center in Laupheim. Because this time they expe\u00adri\u00adenced a number of \u201cfirsts\u201d both in terms of visuals and content. \u201cWe aim to improve every year and make our presen\u00adta\u00adtions more inter\u00adesting,\u201d says Alexander Br\u00fccker, chairman of the Uhlmann works council, modestly. To this end, he and the works council members have put in quite an effort in recent years to raise the presen\u00adta\u00adtion to a new level in terms of both design and content. \u201cWe all agreed that the past prac\u00adtice of using a black curtain back\u00addrop for presen\u00adta\u00adtions was simply a bit old hat,\u201d says Br\u00fccker. With the help of an external agency, the colleagues there\u00adfore devel\u00adoped a new, modern concept. Kim Neuge\u00adbauer has recently been giving the event a fresh boost as its presenter. A natural talent on stage, the works council member clearly feels comfort\u00adable in her role and hosts the event eloquently and profes\u00adsion\u00adally. Alexander Br\u00fccker is also a big fan: \u201cKim has a very posi\u00adtive, open, and charis\u00admatic style that goes down very well with the employees. She\u2019s really driving our works meeting forward again. But as you can see, that concern was unfounded \u2013 the Kulturhaus was packed.<\/p>\n<cite>Alexander Br\u00fccker, chairman of the Uhlmann works council<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Current topics presented in a fresh style<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>A fresh wind is also evident as far as the evening\u2019s topics are concerned, like in July where the agenda featured a role-playing game about Gener\u00ada\u00adtion Z. &nbsp;Alexander Br\u00fccker explains as follows: \u201cWe always collect ques\u00adtions from the work\u00adforce in advance and cluster them so that we can put them to the manage\u00adment during the works meeting and thus obtain infor\u00adma\u00adtion on issues that are preying on many employees\u2019 minds.\u201d The works council usually receives between 600 and 700 ques\u00adtions. Br\u00fccker adds: \u201cIn addi\u00adtion, we want to increas\u00adingly include more general issues that may not initially appear to be directly related to Uhlmann, but which we all encounter to some degree. That\u2019s why we decided to bring gener\u00ada\u00adtional change and Gen Z to the stage this year.\u201d And that\u2019s meant liter\u00adally \u2013 because instead of a pure lecture, trainees Selina Haber\u00admann and Anna Gayer, repre\u00adsen\u00adta\u00adtives of this young gener\u00ada\u00adtion, stood in front of the audi\u00adence and presented their views in a role-play with works council member Fabian M\u00fcller. It is an expres\u00adsion of self-esteem and clarity, and there\u00adfore of respect.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Saying no means saying yes to what really counts. Rather than saying no by itself, it\u2019s better to say: \u201cNo, not now.\u201d Or a no with an alter\u00adna\u00adtive sugges\u00adtion. Here are some aspects in which Gen Z thinks differ\u00adently than we might expect:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Secu\u00adrity instead of self-fulfill\u00adment<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Struc\u00adture instead of rebel\u00adlion<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Finan\u00adcial realism<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Crit\u00adical and digital \u2013 but not naive<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Open commu\u00adni\u00adca\u00adtion between gener\u00ada\u00adtions helps. Our machines are effi\u00adcient. Our services secure our future. But all of this\u2014every inno\u00adva\u00adtion, every delivery, every idea\u2014is created by people. They are the heart of our company. Without them, every\u00adthing is just a shell. That\u2019s why we put people first. With respect, and with trust.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-buttons is-layout-flex wp-block-buttons-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-button is-style-outline is-style-outline--6\"><a class=\"wp-block-button__link wp-element-button\">back<\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">A full house<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Overall, feed\u00adback on the works council\u2019s new approach has been consis\u00adtently posi\u00adtive \u2013 as also reflected in the atten\u00addance figures for the last works meeting: 700 employees flocked to the Cultural Center, and almost as many joined digi\u00adtally. \u201cThat\u2019s a real record and means that we reached almost all employees,\u201d says Br\u00fccker happily. \u201cInitially, we were slightly concerned that no one would partic\u00adi\u00adpate in person if we offered a digital event. But as you can see, that concern was unfounded \u2013 the Kulturhaus was packed.\u201d Actu\u00adally being there in person is some\u00adthing else entirely, he says. And there\u2019s an added benefit: the get-together after\u00adwards provides an oppor\u00adtu\u00adnity to discuss topics in more depth in a relaxed atmos\u00adphere and to talk to the works council and manage\u00adment. \u201cThe get-together is financed by manage\u00adment.
