Building block for full automa\u00adtion<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Karl Geiger has been a sole signa\u00adtory at Goldfu\u00df since September 2018 and now serves as Managing Director since the acqui\u00adsi\u00adtion. \u201cWe develop and manu\u00adfac\u00adture high-quality, customer-specific automa\u00adtion solu\u00adtions for pack\u00adaging tech\u00adnology and labo\u00adra\u00adtory automa\u00adtion for the phar\u00adma\u00adceu\u00adtical industry, medical tech\u00adnology, crop science, the food industry and indus\u00adtrial appli\u00adca\u00adtions,\u201d he says, summa\u00adrizing the company\u2019s complex range of tasks. Here, customer-specific actu\u00adally means tailor-made, usually indi\u00advidual systems. \u201cWe are closing the gap by supplying the missing building block for full automa\u00adtion,\u201d explains Geiger. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Goldfu\u00df systems enable customers to operate their produc\u00adtion lines unmanned. \u201cThey can take over tasks day and night that are too diffi\u00adcult, monot\u00ado\u00adnous or even hazardous to health.\u201d This includes, for example, handling heavy cartons at different heights or working with carcino\u00adgenic substances. While a high output rate is required in the pack\u00adaging sector, the focus in the labo\u00adra\u00adtory is on safety and trace\u00adability. The field of envi\u00adron\u00adment automa\u00adtion is a core compe\u00adtence of Goldfu\u00df engi\u00adneering. Here, maga\u00adzines and bunkers are filled with pack\u00adaging mate\u00adrials. The degree of automa\u00adtion no longer ends at the removal of pallets but extends to auto\u00admatic pallet exchange and connec\u00adtion to driver\u00adless trans\u00adport systems.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

These are high require\u00adments that demand a strong devel\u00adop\u00adment effort. Geiger empha\u00adsizes: \u201cWe are very proud of our team and work exclu\u00adsively with qual\u00adi\u00adfied special\u00adists. This is needed because we have a very high level of vertical inte\u00adgra\u00adtion and do a lot of things ourselves.\u201d Specif\u00adi\u00adcally, this means that every\u00adthing is carried out in-house, from the feasi\u00adbility study in the company\u2019s own tech\u00adnology center to the system design and complete automa\u00adtion to customer accep\u00adtance and after-sale. <\/p>\n\n\n

The team usually only has between 12 and 18 months before a project must be completed. Goldfu\u00df engi\u00adneering supplies its tailor-made systems to customers world\u00adwide: about half to Germany and around 25 percent to other Euro\u00adpean coun\u00adtries, the rest to Asia and the USA, among other places.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

That the company now belongs to the Uhlmann Group is only logical for Karl Geiger. After all, the compa\u00adnies are linked by a long-standing tech\u00adnology part\u00adner\u00adship. He says: \u201cThe acqui\u00adsi\u00adtion is a win for everyone: We can supply the right automa\u00adtion for the pack\u00adaging lines of the Group Compa\u00adnies and now have strong part\u00adners at our side. In addi\u00adtion, we are active in the same indus\u00adtries and markets and can thus make better use of existing customer contacts.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Swabian mentality<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The inte\u00adgra\u00adtion process into the Uhlmann Group is currently underway, which is expected to be completed in two to three years. Goldfu\u00df will remain active in the market inde\u00adpen\u00addently, as well as act as a supplier within the Uhlmann Group and work towards achieving strategic goals. The focus of the inte\u00adgra\u00adtion is on the transfer of tech\u00adnology and know-how as well as the expan\u00adsion of joint busi\u00adness activ\u00adi\u00adties. In addi\u00adtion, syner\u00adgies can be lever\u00adaged, for example with suppliers, banks and insur\u00adance compa\u00adnies, as well as in the area of sustain\u00adability.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addi\u00adtion, the compa\u00adnies have a similar mentality, Geiger under\u00adlines: \u201cIt is a huge advan\u00adtage that we are a Swabian family busi\u00adness. We get along very well with the Group Compa\u00adnies here in the region and have the same way of thinking. You can feel the Swabian spirit.\u201d The geograph\u00adical prox\u00adimity also helps: \u201cWe can quickly reach Uhlmann in Laupheim or KOCH in Pfalz\u00adgrafen\u00adweiler. This means that a personal exchange on site is also possible at short notice. But the coop\u00ader\u00ada\u00adtion with the other compa\u00adnies in the Group, such as Cremer, Wonder and Axito, is also absolutely coop\u00ader\u00ada\u00adtive and effi\u00adcient.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n
