Since July 2022, Uhlmann offers a a sabbat\u00adical of between one and twelve months. Since then, more than 20 employees have already taken the chance to fulfill some personal wishes. Not a single appli\u00adca\u00adtion has been rejected by the company. The reasons for a sabbat\u00adical and its dura\u00adtion vary greatly and are always tailored to personal needs. You find out more about the condi\u00adtions and options for sabbat\u00adi\u00adcals in the portal, from the Works Council or at HR depart\u00adment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Two employees have agreed to share their expe\u00adri\u00adences during their sabbat\u00adical with us.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    When were you on sabbat\u00adical?<\/h5>\n\n\n\n

    I was on sabbat\u00adical from 01.06.2022 to 30.05.2023.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Was it your first sabbat\u00adical?<\/h5>\n\n\n\n

    Yes, it was my first sabbat\u00adical.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    What made you decide to take a sabbat\u00adical?<\/h5>\n\n\n\n

    To take more time for myself and give myself the space that I don\u2019t get enough of in my day-to-day work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    What did you use your time off for? Were there any special projects?<\/h5>\n\n\n\n

    I let it happen to me and started a live & busi\u00adness coaching course during that time and completed a yoga and sound healing (sound bowl therapy) course in India (2 months).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    What did you expe\u00adri\u00adence there?<\/h5>\n\n\n\n

    In prin\u00adciple, I was able to inten\u00adsify my inter\u00adests. India was also a completely new expe\u00adri\u00adence for me. In addi\u00adtion, I not only met many great and inspiring people there and through the coaching training, but also had enriching expe\u00adri\u00adences, which contributed to my personal devel\u00adop\u00adment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    How did the appli\u00adca\u00adtion and approval process at Uhlmann go?<\/h5>\n\n\n\n

    Smoothly. The approval process at Uhlmann was very good, there were no hurdles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    How did you prepare for your sabbat\u00adical?<\/h5>\n\n\n\n

    I didn\u2019t prepare myself, I only had a rough struc\u00adture of what I wanted to do, but I let myself drift and let things come to me. In the end, it was the right way to go, because I was able to do what I wanted to do spon\u00adta\u00adneously.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    What were the biggest chal\u00adlenges?<\/h5>\n\n\n\n

    There were no chal\u00adlenges for me, I didn\u2019t even find it diffi\u00adcult to get up because I was allowed to do what I wanted to do every day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Are you plan\u00adning to take another sabbat\u00adical in the future? If so, what would you do differ\u00adently this time?<\/h5>\n\n\n\n

    Not at first, as the sabbat\u00adical means I\u2019m now doing the things I enjoy.<\/p>\n\n\n

    How did you prepare for your return to work?<\/h5>\n\n\n\n

    I had to get my IT access back (which is under\u00adstand\u00adable after a year), and I let the rest come to me.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    What impact has the sabbat\u00adical had on the way you work and your daily routine since your return?<\/h5>\n\n\n\n

    I decided to work part-time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Are there any long-term changes or goals that have resulted from your sabbat\u00adical?<\/h5>\n\n\n\n

    Yes, very many. On the one hand, the deci\u00adsion to work part-time, the start as a yoga trainer and coach, and on the other, personal changes, such as the imple\u00admen\u00adta\u00adtion of mind\u00adful\u00adness and serenity with all the resulting bene\u00adfits.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Would you recom\u00admend a sabbat\u00adical to others?<\/h5>\n\n\n\n

    Defi\u00adnitely yes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    What advice would you give to colleagues who are consid\u00adering a sabbat\u00adical?<\/h5>\n\n\n\n

    Just do it, because there is never the right time. Don\u2019t plan every\u00adthing in detail, just let it happen and enjoy the time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Plan and apply at an early stage so that you can develop the resulting measures together with the team and agree on takeovers. Consult with colleagues, the team leader and HR in advance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
