Karl\u00adheinz M\u00f6schke usually goes to work with a tune on his lips. At least that is his declared motto: \u201cIf I come into work in the morning whistling and go home still whistling, then that means I\u2019m in exactly the right place.\u201d And for him, that place is Uhlmann Pack\u00adaging Systems in Shanghai. As Regional Director and General Manager, he aspires to achieve this feel-good atti\u00adtude not only for himself, but also for his 40 or so employees. \u201cOnly employees who leave work just as happy and moti\u00advated as when they arrive are produc\u00adtive employees,\u201d says M\u00f6schke. \u201cSince we spend most of our day at work, it\u2019s impor\u00adtant that we also feel happy and comfort\u00adable there.\u201d<\/p>\n

New office: It\u2019s a team effort, not a one-man show<\/h2>\n

Accord\u00adingly, one of his first offi\u00adcial acts on joining Uhlmann in fall 2021 is to search for new premises. \u201cUntil then, our offices had been located in a high-rise building that was long overdue for reno\u00adva\u00adtion. It was neither a partic\u00adu\u00adlarly pleasant place to work for the team, nor was it a great place to welcome visiting customers.\u201d His goal: pres\u00adti\u00adgious premises that are similar in ambi\u00adence to Uhlmann\u2019s head\u00adquar\u00adters in Laupheim.<\/p>\n

The team counts! That's why Karl\u00adheinz M\u00f6schke gives all employees the oppor\u00adtu\u00adnity to contribute inde\u00adpen\u00addently.<\/p><\/div>\n

Instead of placing the project in the hands of senior manage\u00adment, M\u00f6schke chooses a different approach: he dele\u00adgates respon\u00adsi\u00adbility to indi\u00advidual teams. \u201cFor me, this is a central element of my work here; I want to divide the respon\u00adsi\u00adbility among the teams so that everyone can get involved. And the new building was a good project to try this out.\u201d The exper\u00adi\u00adment was a success and Uhlmann Pack\u00adaging Systems moved into the new premises in Shanghai in July 2023.  M\u00f6schke stresses that: \u201cThe best thing about it for me is that it wasn\u2019t a one-man show, but a real team effort of which we are justly proud.\u201d<\/p>\n\n
