It\u2019s hard to imagine Axito\u2019s produc\u00adtion floor without dash\u00adboards. And you only have to enter the Lauphein plant to see the first example of one of these large moni\u00adtors. The one at the entrance shows the current KPIs of the facility, while others in the office area alert staff to any machine malfunc\u00adtions. In the tool preset\u00adting area, the dash\u00adboard provides infor\u00adma\u00adtion about current machine utiliza\u00adtion levels and any mate\u00adrials that staff need to provide. One hangs in the supervisor\u2019s office and one in the mechan\u00adical produc\u00adtion cell. And all these digital boards have a common purpose, as Serhat Toykan, Director Manu\u00adfac\u00adturing at Axito, explains: \u201cWe want this digi\u00adtal\u00adiza\u00adtion to give us maximum trans\u00adparency.\u201d<\/p>\n

Using digi\u00adtal\u00adiza\u00adtion wisely<\/h2>\n

By reading the dash\u00adboards them\u00adselves, employees can find answers to issues that concern their own activity. For example: How did I perform in my produc\u00adtion cell? How high are my rejects? How many error messages did I get, how long does it take me to rectify any faults? In addi\u00adtion, they show key oper\u00adating figures, like on-time delivery, cost of non-quality, and output and utiliza\u00adtion levels. They also provide infor\u00adma\u00adtion on the number of reportable work-related acci\u00addents. And all without having to manu\u00adally edit MS Excel spread\u00adsheets in the indi\u00advidual depart\u00adments. \u201cThis saves time,\u201d says Toykan, and goes on to say: \u201cThanks to the SAP Analytics Cloud, we can dispense with the manual process of preparing and presenting data, increase trans\u00adparency for all employees, contribute to faster deci\u00adsion-making, and thus ensure the reli\u00ada\u00adbility of supplies across all steps of the process.\u201d<\/p>\n

Axito grad\u00adu\u00adally began intro\u00adducing the dash\u00adboards at the end of 2021, and made sure that all colleagues were involved right from the start. The idea for the dash\u00adboard in the tool preset\u00adting area, for example, came from an employee. According to Toykan, the response to the boards has been corre\u00adspond\u00adingly posi\u00adtive ever since. And Matthias G\u00f6ttel from the tool preset\u00adting depart\u00adment adds: \u201cThe enhanced trans\u00adparency of the orders ensures that the parts can be tracked. A fast response time for replace\u00adment tools is impor\u00adtant and can thus be guar\u00adan\u00adteed.\u201d<\/p>\n

Never\u00adthe\u00adless, as Toykan explains, we\u2019re not using digi\u00adtal\u00adiza\u00adtion just for the sake of it. \u201cWher\u00adever it makes more sense to use paper, we\u2019ll stick with paper.
