The building was inau\u00adgu\u00adrated by Hedwig Uhlmann punc\u00adtu\u00adally in the fiftieth year after the company\u2019s foun\u00adda\u00adtion. After all, KOCH has been a member of the Uhlmann Group since 2006.\n

The glass fa\u00e7ade, with deco\u00adra\u00adtive elements in KOCH blue, reflects the working atmos\u00adphere; some\u00adthing that distin\u00adguishes the whole company and also made the new building neces\u00adsary. The company has been attracting more and more people: the work\u00adforce at the head\u00adquar\u00adters in Pfalz\u00adgrafen\u00adweiler in the Black Forest has increased from 180 in 2012 to approx\u00adi\u00admately 430 today.<\/p>\n

Inviting recep\u00adtion<\/h2>\n

Dunja Gall-Dixon is one of the two employees in the recep\u00adtion area. She was been working at KOCH for two years. Prior to the move into the new building, it was not really correct to speak of recep\u00adtion, as she explains: \u201cAt the time, when I arrived for my inter\u00adview, I virtu\u00adally stood before a closed door.\u201d The recep\u00adtion area had been moved to a container. Dunja Gall-Dixon now feels much more inte\u00adgrated at her new, inviting, and very brightly designed work\u00adplace with a view opening out onto a green moss wall. \u201cWe, Marion H\u00f6lzle and I, are the points of contact for a lot of people, not just for visi\u00adtors, but also for all employees.\u201d<\/p>\n

Commu\u00adni\u00adcating with one another, regard\u00adless of hier\u00adar\u00adchies or depart\u00adment affil\u00adi\u00ada\u00adtion, char\u00adac\u00adter\u00adizes KOCH according to J\u00f6rg Sche\u00adbetka, Head of Marketing Commu\u00adni\u00adca\u00adtions. The new building was designed and furnished with a view to facil\u00adi\u00adtating easy coop\u00ader\u00ada\u00adtion: open kitch\u00adenettes, discus\u00adsion zones to encourage spon\u00adta\u00adneous get-togethers and curb the flood of meet\u00adings, and parquet flooring to create lounge flair.<\/p>\n

Keeping pace with the times<\/h2>\n

Not only does KOCH focus on digi\u00adti\u00adza\u00adtion and sustain\u00adability in terms of its prod\u00aducts. Evidence is also found in the building. On the touch\u00adscreen on the first floor is a digital bulletin board. Contacts can be located here and the control tech\u00adnology accessed. The lighting is self-regu\u00adlating, as is the air condi\u00adtioning. Heat is supplied by a local coop\u00ader\u00ada\u00adtive and is derived from renew\u00adable fuels.<\/p>\n

Distrib\u00aduted over three floors, the Exec\u00adu\u00adtive Board, Marketing, Human Resources, IT, Accounting, and Control\u00adling have been working hand in hand here since the end of 2019, pursuing their common field of busi\u00adness \u2013 custom machine engi\u00adneering. \u201cIn addi\u00adtion to presenting ourselves appro\u00adpri\u00adately to our customers, we wanted to unite the divi\u00adsions in the new building and maxi\u00admize syner\u00adgies. The employees not only demon\u00adstrate this in their work in the four fields of appli\u00adca\u00adtion: consumer goods, contact lenses, medical tech\u00adnology, and services. \u201cNobody was too proud to pack boxes for the move into the new building or to clean windows just before the inau\u00adgu\u00adra\u00adtion\u201d, says Sche\u00adbetka. On behalf of all the helpful KOCH employees, Mike Burkhardt, Head of Elec\u00adtrical Assembly, was awarded a golden hammer at the inau\u00adgu\u00adra\u00adtion. Together with CTO Karl Kappler, Divi\u00adsion Manager IT & Process Opti\u00admiza\u00adtion Hein\u00adrich Horn\u00adberger, Project Assis\u00adtant SAP Andrea Wurster, and J\u00f6rg Sche\u00adbetka, he was a member of the team that addressed major and minor ques\u00adtions concerning the new building.<\/p>\n
